Thanks to the support of MusicMasterpieces Lugano, Federica Artuso plays an original Antonio de Torres guitar, considered the Stradivarius of the six-stringed guitar.
The Torres SE 122 is a particularly interesting instrument due to its construction features: an oblique grain on the soundboard, a back and sides made from two types of wood (Brazilian rosewood and Cuban mahogany), and a removable tornavoz (the only known example of this feature in antique instruments to date).
The instrument is the focus of a research project and a forthcoming recording project.
